The Greater Fool

The newsroom這麼需要腦力的影集大家都應該看看，可以認識一下美國的政治和復習一下重大事件。
看完S01E10 The Greater Fool，對近期事件又很有感覺。
主角Will McAvoy 為一名主播，希望能改變新聞界以收視率為主軸而調整內容的風氣。於S01E03發表以下聲明：
以下小小節錄：

「從今天起，我們播出什麼新聞，如何呈現出來，都只有一個簡單的原則：在民主制度中，沒有什麼比腦袋清楚的選民更為重要。

主角被一篇雜誌形容為The greater fool(大傻瓜)，內容寫到主角想改變世界，卻痛恨世界已經改變。與其說他老了不如說他過時了，他的假設毫無根據且不合實際等等。

專業於財金的主播Sloan Sabbith向主角說的話：

「大傻瓜其實是個經濟學術語，指容易受騙的人
"The greater fool" Is actually an economic term. It's a pasty.

我們為了獲利，需要一個大傻瓜
For the rest of us to profit, we need a great fool,

就是那種追漲殺跌的人
someone who will buy long and sell short.

大多數人一輩子都在設法避免成為大傻瓜
Most people spend their lives trying not ro be the greater fool.

我們把燙手的山芋丟給他
We toss him the hot potato.

音樂停止時，我們急著去搶他的座位
We dive for his seat when the music stops.

大傻瓜身上完美的融合了自欺與自負
The freater fool is someone with the perfect blend of self-delusion and ego

他自認為能在他人失敗之處獲得成功
to think that he can succeed where others have failed.

這個國家都是由大傻瓜建立的。」
This whole country was made by greater fools.

最大笨蛋理論(Greater fool theory)，又稱博傻理論，簡單舉例大概是拍賣會在拍賣一個藝術品，你完全不知道他的價值，但你花大錢將它買下，因為你預期會有更大的笨蛋出更高價從你手中買下。只要你不是最後的笨蛋，中間的過程只是賺多賺少而已。(http://ppt.cc/~Mmy)

現在環境有夠失敗，還是有好多大傻瓜自以為能夠成功。
